I’ve been looking for the death certificate for one of my 2nd great grandfathers because I don’t know when he died or where he is buried. I know where his brother and one of his half sisters are but not him. I didn’t find the death record but I found a birth record. One thing that it confirms is the last enslaver family for his mother. Look at column for “Father’s Name in full if Child be free and born in wedlock, or Name of Owner if Child be born a Slave.” FamilySearch transcribed Susan Allmond as his father.

I’ve also found this information on the Virginia Slave Index after finding the actual record.

Anthony, Moses brother, is listed just before him on the index. William Allmond, who passed away in 1854, is listed as his owner. (I noted the different spellings for Allmond. The name has been spelled in as many ways as you can imagine across the various records I’ve examined.)
